Counting down
The ceremony and the party are a few minutes apart, just south of Paris. Here’s how the day will run.

The civil ceremony starts at 11:00 sharp. Please arrive about fifteen minutes early: the room at the town hall is small, places are limited and we will start on time. Parking around the square can be tight on a Saturday morning.

We’ll then head to Maison des rêves in Morigny-Champigny for drinks, dinner and dancing. We plan to keep going well into the night.
Open in mapsIt’s about 4 km from the town hall to Maison des rêves, roughly ten minutes by car. There’s no shuttle, so please plan on a car or a taxi, or arrange a lift with other guests.
Open in mapsÉtampes is about fifty kilometres south of Paris and is easy to reach by train or by car.
The RER C runs direct from Paris Gare d’Austerlitz to Étampes, roughly every 30 minutes. Étampes station is a few minutes from the town centre.
There’s no direct train. Take the RER B to Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame, then change to the RER C towards Étampes. Leave yourself plenty of time, especially on the day itself.
This is the closest airport. Take a bus to Massy-Palaiseau, then the train on to Étampes.
Take the A10 motorway south from Paris. This is what we’d recommend: it leaves you free to move between the town hall and the venue, and to get home at the end of the night.
Since the party runs late, we’d recommend staying the night nearby. Here are a few places in and around Étampes.
We haven’t blocked any rooms. Étampes is a small town, so please book early, especially if you’re coming as a family.
The most practical choice: the hotels, the station and the town hall are all here, within walking distance of each other.

Open in mapsGîtes and holiday rentals in the surrounding villages often work out better for groups or families, and they have plenty of charm.
Formal attire. A tuxedo isn’t mandatory, though let’s be honest, it would be funny. There’s no such thing as “wedding colours” here: wear whatever you like, and if you fancy bringing some colour, we’d love it. We’ll be partly outdoors on grass and gravel, so stiletto heels will struggle. Early September days are mild but evenings cool down, so bring a jacket or a wrap for later.
Mostly just yourselves. There is a pool at the reception venue, and experience suggests somebody always ends up in it. Bring a swimming costume so that it happens on purpose. If you have a few words, a photo or a memory you’d like to share with us, we’d love to have it. There’s no gift list: having you there is enough.
A short ceremony at the town hall, then an afternoon and evening of drinks, dinner and dancing. Nothing stiff: come as you are and stay as long as you like.
Your children are very welcome. It’ll be a long, loud evening, so bring something to keep them busy, and tell us if you need somewhere quieter for them.

The RER C runs from Paris Gare d’Austerlitz to Étampes in about 40 minutes, no changes.
The last train to Paris leaves around 23:00, well before the party ends. Without a car, book a room nearby.
Ideally Étampes or Morigny-Champigny; Ormoy-la-Rivière, Étréchy and Chamarande are good options too. Book early: nothing is pre-reserved.
Late into the night. Stay as long as you like.
